Paula: What are your goals as an artist?
Rajeev Taranath: To keep honing my art until the end. To teach a few who can thereby carry this music forward after me. Paula: Do you find that when you perform, audience reactions tend to differ between Western audiences, and audiences who are more familiar with Indian Classical Music? Rajeev Taranath: The knowledgeable and the serious listeners are similar. The others look for somewhat different kinds of excitement.
